About Pepe Jijon

Before he became one of Ecuador's most talked-about coffee producers, Pepe was a mountaineer. He became the first Latin American to solo-climb the Seven Summits. That same drive eventually led him to Finca Soledad, which he founded in 2010.

Today, Pepe channels that same commitment into crafting coffees that reflect the full character of the Intag Valley's extraordinary terroir. His Wave processing method is his own invention, born from years of studying fermentation science and listening closely to what the coffee needs at every stage.

Finca Soledad

Finca Soledad sits at 1,515 meters above sea level on a terrace carved into the Intag Valley, a remote and ecologically rich corner of northern Ecuador's Imbabura province. The farm spans 120 hectares, the vast majority of which is protected or restored cloud forest, with coffee grown on just a handful of productive hectares. That intentional restraint is reflected in every cup.
